Welcome to the Past Simple Question Negative Quiz!
This quiz focuses on correctly forming negative questions (questions asking for confirmation) about the past.
- The Simple Rule: The negative question structure is the same for all subjects (I, You, He, She, It, We, They).
- Short Form Structure: The most common way is: DIDN’T + Subject + the Base Form of the main verb (V1)?
- Long Form Structure: Use: DID + Subject + NOT + Base Form (V1)?
- Crucial Point: When using DID or DIDN’T, the main verb MUST always be in its base form (V1). Never use the V2 form.
- (e.g., They ate -> Didn’t they eat?)
- (e.g., She spoke -> Did she not speak?)
